What is an AI worker and how do I set one up?
An AI worker is the AI assistant given an SOP (standard operating procedure) to work your contacts. For example: you are my support AI worker; answer how-to questions, process a refund request, build a web page if the customer asks for it, and escalate if something is not done in time.
To set one up:
- Write the instructions (the SOP).
- Choose which conversations or contacts it works, for example everyone in a customer service, support or sales pipeline.
- Set the hours it works, for example nine to five, Monday to Friday.
- Choose its tools. By default it has all tools, but you can limit it to some, such as billing, notes or creating tasks.
- Set the concurrency, which is how many workers run at the same time.
The workers then get to work. You can watch them work contact by contact and click on one to see the detail.
You can use AI workers for support, sales, onboarding or anything you can write down as a process. A worker has full access to your CRM, just like the AI assistant. Write escalation into the instructions, for example: if a task is not done within four hours, mark it urgent, assign it to someone else and text the business owner. A worker can also create a task, wait, check on it every hour or day, and tell the customer when it is done. For a daily check, use a scheduled task, for example every day at nine in the morning.
